Day one: 10 things you want to say to 10 different people

  1. I’ll always admire how you don’t give a single fuck what anyone thinks, and how you shaped me to finally find the same in myself. You’re the one person I’m bummed I didn’t see go for his bachelor’s. You are golden at everything you do, and even the graphic designers here have nothing on you. You deserve to marry an awesome girl and have cute kids with super curly hair and huge blue eyes. You’ve ALWAYS deserve bigger things than that small town. You are the most brilliant mind I’ve ever met. I just wish you’d do it.
  2. I know you’re only worried, and believe me so am I, but you have to believe me when I say that internet age has only created jobs in my field. I’m going to do what I love, I’m going to make you proud and I’m going to make HER proud. I promise I won’t let you down. This degree isn’t in vain.
  3. Your musical talents only go as far as your courage. You’ll forever date girls you’ll never love because you’re afraid of breaking her heart, or do things for people you detest because you’re too nice. You moved here to do what you love, and until you love yourself and do what’s best for YOU, you’ll never be happy.
  4. Stop stressing out about what happens next. They give you large propaganda that says everything after high schools is 10 times harder. But you discover things you never knew about yourself. And I promise after each post-high school hardship, you still won’t want to go back for the world. You’ll not only be fine, you’ll be amazing.
  5. Does it really matter that much to you what girls so close to you are doing with their sex lives? You can disagree with something silently and pray without using awful name-calling. Also, your own path of destructive habits scare me. You’re not bullet-proof and you need to know that more than ever, before something very irreversible happens and it’s too late to turn around.
  6. Each time you take even five minutes out of your life to be pure rude just for the sake of being pure rude, it hurts me. It stabs my back and it puts a pit in my stomach, because we’re supposed to be family. Congratulations; you’ve won, that’s what you intend, I’m sure. I’ve never been anything but golden to your kids and I’m not perfect but I’ve grown up a lot. You, on the other hand, are just being unkind.
  7.  You’re in an abusive relationship. Your father doesn’t even have the guts to tell this to your face, but frankly neither do I. In just a couple of weeks, you will have taken the torment, mental, verbal and from what I’ve heard increasing physical abuse, for three years. YOU are beautiful, you are smart and you deserve way better. Love is a bitch, but I believe you can walk away from this, still. You’ll have so much support. Just please.
  8. Don’t do what I did and fall for someone who doesn’t treat you 100 percent how you deserve. If you do, I’ll be here for every rant and ramble and you’ll never have to apologize, because love is a bitch, even after you’ve had the strength to walk away.
  9. I’m sorry I can’t be the perfect girl who texts all the time and makes time for this when it should be so simple. I’m sorry I’m too weary to work on us and that the second time was again, short-lived. You should know I’m kicking myself for working on myself when it means walking from one of the greatest guys ever. But you’ll always be the one who saved my summer and showed me disk golf.
  10. You have turned your life around in a year and you are naturally pretty, even though you never agree. You make me proud to be related to you, you work your ass off twice as hard as I did two years ago and you’re going places. Don’t let yourself think you deserve less than this life.
